Fault Finding Engineer – Root Cause Analysis

About the role

We are recruiting a Service & Fault‑Finding Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business in Andover. The role is hands‑on, focusing on diagnosing, repairing and preventing electrical, mechanical and control‑system faults on specialist industrial machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control‑system faults.
• Carry out structured fault‑finding and root‑cause analysis.
• Identify recurring machine faults and implement preventative solutions.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve reliability and serviceability.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and servicing procedures.

Required profile

• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic experience, preferably with industrial machinery or automation.
• Methodical approach to problem solving and root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring and control panel knowledge.
• Experience with sensors, motors, drives and relays.
• Basic C++ programming or willingness to develop it.
• Preventative maintenance and engineering improvement experience.

What we offer

• Salary £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience.
