Female Domestic Abuse Casework Coordinator

About the role

This permanent position supports women and children affected by domestic abuse across Wiltshire. The role provides trauma‑informed, holistic casework to help survivors rebuild their lives, improve wellbeing, and achieve safe, independent futures. It is restricted to female applicants under the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of survivors' practical, emotional and safety needs.
• Develop, review and update personalised support and risk‑management plans.
• Provide ongoing emotional support, advocacy and practical assistance.
• Facilitate access to safe accommodation, health services, benefits, legal advice, education and employment.
• Collaborate with local authorities, housing providers, health professionals, social care, police and partner agencies.
• Identify safeguarding risks, follow procedures and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Maintain accurate, confidential case records in internal case‑management systems.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota and travel across the service area as required.

Required profile

• Experience in domestic abuse, housing, homelessness, social care, mental health or a related support service.
• Good understanding of domestic abuse dynamics and impact on survivors and children.
• Proven ability to carry out assessments, develop support plans and manage complex caseloads.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and trauma‑informed approaches.
• Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agencies.
• Strong organisational skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
