Female PE Teacher / Head of PE – Maternity Cover in Tower Hamlets

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a qualified female Physical Education teacher or Head of PE to provide maternity cover for a secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London. The role starts in September 2026 and runs for the duration of the maternity leave, offering an opportunity to lead or support the PE department.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality PE and Sports Studies lessons to students of all abilities.
• Inspire pupils to enjoy and achieve in physical activity.
• Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour within the department.
• Potentially lead the PE department and support staff during the cover period.

Required profile

• Qualified secondary PE teacher with experience in a UK school.
• Excellent classroom practitioner with strong communication skills.
• Passionate about PE and Sports Studies.
• Organised, confident and able to work flexibly within an established department.
• Ambitious, hardworking team player available full‑time from September 2026.
