About the role
The Field Application Engineer will support customers in using Motion Applied hardware, embedded software, off‑car configuration and data‑analysis tools. The focus is on software, helping customers adopt the ATLAS telemetry and analysis ecosystem used across top‑level racing series.
Key responsibilities
- Provide on‑track, remote and on‑site support for customers.
- Represent the customer’s viewpoint within Motion Applied and influence product strategy.
- Work with internal teams to resolve issues and improve procedures.
- Produce demos and examples to maximise customer value from Motion Applied products.
- Lead development projects with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose and analyse customer issues to determine root causes.
- Identify opportunities to add value with additional Motion Applied solutions.
Required profile
- Accurately interpret field observations and advise or escalate solutions.
- Diagnose software problems under pressure with a methodical approach.
- Strong communication skills for rapid information capture.
- Good understanding of electronic elements of motorsport systems, sensors and actuators.
- Track‑side experience in a motorsport environment.
- Graduate degree (minimum 2:1) in software, computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.

- Python programming.
- MATLAB and Simulink.
- C# development.
- Excel VBA for API integration.
- Time‑series data handling and analysis.
- Kafka data‑streaming broker knowledge.
- Docker and Kubernetes container deployment.
- ATLAS data‑analysis platform.
- System Monitor ECU set‑up tools.
