Field Interviewer – Part‑time (Harrow)

About the role

As a Field Interviewer you will visit households in the Harrow area to carry out face‑to‑face research interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport. Using a tablet or laptop you will record real‑life experiences, helping Natcen Social Research produce data that informs public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Knock on doors and conduct interviews in people’s homes.
• Guide conversations with a tablet or laptop to capture accurate responses.
• Handle refusals and maintain a professional, courteous approach.
• Travel to assigned neighbourhoods and manage your own schedule.
• Ensure data is entered correctly and securely after each interview.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 business insurance for the vehicle.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband and a laptop or tablet with a camera.
• At least 18 hours per week availability, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English skills.

What we offer

• £20‑£30 per interview (typical rate).
• Admin fees and holiday pay (12.1%).
• Travel time paid at £4.68 per hour and mileage at 36p per mile.
• £250 bonus after launch, plus additional bonuses at two and four months.
• Average hourly rate of about £15.12, higher for experienced interviewers.
