Field Interviewer – Redhill

About the role

Natcen Social Research is looking for enthusiastic field interviewers to visit households in the Redhill area and collect data on topics such as health, housing and transport. You will work on a part‑time basis, using a tablet or laptop to guide conversations and record real‑world experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Knock on doors and arrange face‑to‑face interviews with residents who have received a prior invitation letter.
• Conduct structured interviews using a tablet or laptop, ensuring accurate capture of responses.
• Travel to assigned locations, log mileage and travel time, and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Submit interview data promptly through Natcen’s online system.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality throughout each interaction.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 business insurance for the vehicle.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband and a laptop or tablet with a camera.
• At least 18 hours per week availability, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English skills.

• Comfortable using a tablet or laptop for data entry.

What we offer

• £20‑£30 per interview, plus admin fees and holiday pay (12.1%).
• Travel time paid at £4.68 per hour and mileage reimbursement at 36p per mile (up to 10,000 miles).
• £250 bonus after launch, with additional bonuses at two and four months.
• Average hourly rate of approximately £15.12, higher for experienced interviewers.
