Field Interviewer – South East London

About the role

Join Natcen Social Research as a Field Interviewer, conducting face‑to‑face research interviews in households across South East London. This part‑time role lets you gather real‑world insights on health, housing, transport and other key topics that shape public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Visit households in South East London to conduct research interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport.
• Use a tablet or laptop to guide conversations and record respondents’ experiences.
• Knock on doors, manage appointments and handle refusals professionally.
• Submit interview data and travel logs in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car with Class 1 business insurance.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband and a laptop or tablet with a camera.
• At least 18 hours of availability per week and flexibility for weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.

Required skills

• Comfortable using basic technology (tablet, laptop, camera).

What we offer

• £20‑£30 per interview, plus admin fees, holiday pay and travel reimbursements.
• £250 bonus after launch and additional bonuses at two and four months.
• Average hourly rate of about £15.12, with higher rates for experienced interviewers.
• Flexible part‑time schedule to fit around other commitments.
