Field IT Service Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Field IT Service Engineer to cover the South East of England, based in Kent. You will be responsible for installing and supporting EPOS hardware and related IT systems for our retail network.

Key responsibilities

• Install new EPOS hardware, including data cabling where required.
• Deploy systems following documented procedures and provide operational advice via phone, modem or training.
• Maintain personal availability within the assigned territory and keep an adequate stock of spare parts.
• Ensure all build and repair processes are followed and that the work environment remains clean and safe.
• Track assets accurately and assign them to the correct customer.
• Support non‑EPOS PC ordering systems and assist the Helpdesk team as needed.
• Perform general administration and report potential future issues.

Required profile

• Motivated, friendly and hands‑on with a passion for delivering great service.
• Enjoys working independently or as part of a small team.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Basic numeracy and literacy; an electrical qualification is a plus.
• Knowledge of structured data cabling is preferred.
