Field Motor Engineer - North West

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Field Engineer with a strong background in motor engineering and claims. The role involves vehicle inspection, repair cost negotiation and managing claims to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate, detailed engineering reports.
• Assess, value and negotiate vehicle repair costs.
• Provide fair vehicle valuations and negotiate total loss settlements.
• Manage claims through to resolution and liaise with repairers, customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Qualified to IAEA or ATA (VDA) standard.
• Experience within insurer or independent engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of claims processes and salvage categorisation.
• Ability to inspect a wide range of vehicles including cars, HGVs, agricultural machinery and caravans.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating systems such as Audatex, GT Motive and Glass’s.
• AQP qualification.
