Field Optimisation Team Member

About the role

The Field Optimisation Team Member will support BT Engineering Services in managing and optimising the regional work plan for network field operations. Based in Bristol, the role requires three days a week on site and focuses on ensuring that field engineering teams deliver work efficiently and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Own and daily manage the operational work plan for a defined region.
• Proactively balance current and future workloads, flagging demand mismatches and coordinating corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Maintain and reduce the work‑stack by managing both fluid and non‑fluid tasks.
• Align monthly work schedules to maximise field engineering delivery output.
• Ensure all tasks, including backlog items, are correctly dated and dependencies are analysed.
• Update inventory systems to enforce correct sequencing of work.
• Review power change requests, provide governance and support new power‑related initiatives.
• Build collaborative relationships with regional managers, field engineering, planning, capacity and power policy teams.
• Track programme dependencies using physical trackers and systems, enabling task completion only when all prerequisites are met.

Required profile

• Ability to work on‑site in Bristol three days per week.
• Strong organisational and analytical capabilities to manage complex work plans.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
