Field Professional – Directional Drilling (Aberdeen)

About the role

Halliburton is seeking a motivated Field Professional to supervise on‑site Directional Drilling (DD) operations in Aberdeen. You will work under general supervision, ensuring well paths are projected accurately to target coordinates while supporting the drilling team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise DD processes on‑site, including well‑path projection and BHA assembly.
• Perform survey calculations, update well‑profile plots and provide accurate directional survey data to client representatives.
• Prepare daily DD reports, BHA performance reports, service tickets and required paperwork (spreadsheets, lessons learned, KPI forms).
• Inspect and maintain DD equipment, record dimensional data, and ensure proper lay‑out and back‑load procedures.
• Coordinate with MWD engineers to verify BHA compatibility, operating parameters and tool‑face references.
• Participate in performance‑improvement initiatives and adhere to client surveying requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline is preferred.
• Minimum two years of field experience in Directional Drilling, L/MWD, or SDL.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Directional Drilling computer software.
• Ability to conduct survey calculations and well‑path projections.
• Experience updating well‑profile plots and handling BHA assembly (make‑up torque, doping, handling).
• Familiarity with drilling program requirements and equipment inspection.
