Field Sales Manager – Electrical Engineering (Bristol to Birmingham corridor)

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of process control and energy management equipment, is seeking a Field Sales Manager to drive sales of electrical products across the Bristol‑to‑Birmingham corridor. The role combines account development with new‑business hunting, delivering high‑value engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio ranging from single component sales to £250k projects, balancing existing account growth and new prospect acquisition.
• Conduct a minimum of two high‑impact client meetings per day, four days a week in the field.
• Strategically cover the West Midlands, South West and South Wales, with a focus on the Bristol‑to‑Birmingham corridor.
• Sell to M&E contractors, wholesalers, panel builders, switchgear manufacturers and control‑panel specialists.
• Use a consultative, solution‑led approach to turn small instrumentation deals into full‑scale solutions.

Required profile

• Proven success in a high‑activity field sales environment within electrical, engineering or building‑services sectors.
• Strong curiosity about client operations and ability to uncover complex technical requirements.
• Experience presenting bespoke engineering proposals that secure long‑term contracts.
• Background in Electrical Engineering or the M&E sector; related trades such as plumbing or HVAC are also considered.
• Relevant electrical certification or qualification is highly desirable.
