Field Service Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our brand‑new service centre in Southampton. The role combines on‑site work at hospital customers and mobile medical units with regional travel across the South of England.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and service electrical systems in mobile medical and modular units.
• Carry out inspections, testing and fault diagnosis to minimise equipment downtime.
• Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rota (one week in every four) providing emergency support.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
• Attend training sessions at the Northern HQ and complete a 12‑month development programme.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Installation.
• BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• 2391 inspection and testing certification or equivalent.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, servicing and fault finding within industrial, medical or healthcare environments.

• Salary £42,000 – £50,000 per year
• £115 monthly cost‑of‑living allowance
