Field Service Engineer – Automation & Robotics

About the role

Join Imperium Automation as a Field Service Engineer, providing on‑site installation, maintenance and repair of advanced material handling, conveyor, packaging and robotic systems across distribution centres and other customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver shift cover and respond rapidly to breakdowns at multiple locations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on storage retrieval, conveyor and packaging equipment.
• Assist with new installations and project deliveries, primarily in distribution centres.
• Collaborate with resident engineering teams to ensure professional representation of Imperium Automation.
• Provide 24/7/365 reactive maintenance support, offering flexibility to meet client expectations.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent apprenticeship in electrical or multi‑skilled engineering.
• Proven experience working in automated distribution environments.
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures, risk assessments and permits.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or within a client’s team.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Electrical installation, maintenance and repair.
• IPAF certification for working at height and confined spaces.

• Competitive salary £50,000‑£55,000 plus OTE up to £70,000.
