Field Service Engineer – Automotive/Mechanical (Reading)

About the role

Join a growing materials handling company as a Field Service Engineer. After a comprehensive two‑week in‑house forklift training programme, you will work across Reading, Slough and the wider M4 corridor servicing and repairing forklifts and other handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Complete the two‑week forklift training programme before operating independently.
• Service, maintain and repair forklifts and materials handling equipment.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
• Respond to customer breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance.
• Provide excellent customer service while minimising equipment downtime.

Required profile

• Experience as an automotive technician, vehicle mechanic, plant engineer, HGV technician, agricultural engineer or similar.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic fault‑finding abilities.
• Eagerness to learn a new industry through structured training.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Based in Reading, Slough, Maidenhead or surrounding areas.
