Field Service Engineer - Electrical

About the role

We are seeking an electrically trained Field Service Engineer to install, service, test, fault‑find, commission and repair specialist laboratory containment equipment across the UK. The role requires strong electrical testing and fault‑finding skills, previous field service experience and the confidence to work independently at customer sites, with nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing of specialist equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical, electronic and mechanical faults.
• Install, commission and test new equipment at customer sites.
• Complete electrical safety testing, inspection and verification in line with company procedures.
• Perform airflow performance and functional testing after full training.
• Accurately complete service, testing and certification documentation.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools and calibrated test equipment.

Required profile

• Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Electrical Service Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Testing & Commissioning Engineer.
• Experience with electrical testing, inspection and fault diagnosis.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
• Ability to work safely on electrical equipment and provide professional customer support.
