Field Service Engineer – Industrial Compressors

About the role

This permanent position is based in Derby and involves travelling across a 75‑mile radius to service, install and maintain industrial air compressors and generators. You will work a standard 40‑hour week, Monday to Friday, with limited overtime and the opportunity to return home each night.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites from Derby up to Leeds and down to Birmingham.
• Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on air compressors and nitrogen/oxygen generators.
• Install new equipment and commission systems to meet client specifications.
• Maintain accurate service records and report on job completion.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards on all site visits.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent technical background.
• Proven experience as a field service engineer working with industrial compressors or gas generators.
• Ability to work independently within a defined local patch and manage a daily travel schedule.
• Strong customer‑focused attitude and good communication skills.
