Field Service Engineer

About the role

The successful candidate will join a leading UK manufacturer of turnkey machinery solutions, providing on‑site installation, commissioning and after‑sales service for a range of automated process equipment across the UK and Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and service manufacturing process machinery at client sites.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and control faults, using PLC and HMI interfaces.
• Travel regularly to customer locations, managing schedules and documentation.
• Provide technical support and training to end users as required.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to improve service procedures.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained mechanical engineer with experience in automated process machinery.
• Background in service engineering within the FMCG or related manufacturing sectors.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexibly in a field‑based environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLC and HMI control systems.
• Mechanical engineering knowledge for process equipment.
• Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of automated machinery.
