Field Service Engineer – Materials Handling (Warrington, Wigan & Preston)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Field Service Engineer to support our materials handling customers across the Warrington, Wigan and Preston area. The role is field‑based, offering a mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a variety of equipment. You will act as the on‑site ambassador for the company, building strong relationships while delivering high‑quality technical service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and urgent repairs on materials handling machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using systematic troubleshooting techniques.
• Complete accurate service reports, manage parts inventory and documentation.
• Provide excellent on‑site customer service and identify opportunities for additional work.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Required profile

• Strong engineering mindset with hands‑on experience in automotive, HGV/plant, forklift, agricultural or military engineering.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage your own schedule and travel between sites.
• Full UK driving licence.
