About the role
The Field Service Engineer will carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost‑effective manner, following health and safety and quality procedures. The role involves working to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises, monitoring van stock and ensuring the safety of repaired trucks.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites.
- Maintain documentation of all works performed in line with health, safety and quality procedures.
- Work to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises.
- Monitor and count van stock to ensure sufficient parts for daily maintenance.
- Inspect and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
- Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions and parts paperwork within required timescales.
- Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling, ensuring they are safe for the work undertaken.
- Adhere to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
Required profile
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proficient in fault finding and repair.
- GCSE grade C or above in English and maths.
- Experience of health & safety requirements in a workshop environment.
- Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
- Excellent organisational, resourceful and solution‑driven approach.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
