Field Service Engineer – Scotland (Public Transport)

About the role
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to support public transport across Scotland. You will be based in Glasgow and travel to workshops, garages and roadside locations, ensuring buses stay operational.
Key responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, inspection, fault diagnostics and repairs on diesel, hybrid and electric buses.
- Produce accurate service reports after each job.
- Carry out point‑of‑work risk assessments.
- Assist customers with servicing queries and urgent breakdowns.
Required profile
- Full UK driving licence.
- Based in Glasgow or Edinburgh area.
- City & Guilds Level 3 vehicle maintenance qualification or equivalent experience as a bus mechanic or auto electrician.
- Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.
Required skills
- Electrical diagnostics.
- Computer‑based diagnostic tools.
- Vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Experience with diesel, hybrid and electric bus systems.
