Field Service Engineer – Security Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer with experience in security and fire suppression systems to join a well‑established company serving commercial and residential clients across the South East. The role is based on a local patch around Stevenage (up to a 50‑mile radius) and involves day‑to‑day service, installation and maintenance work.

Key responsibilities

• Service, install and commission a variety of security and fire protection equipment.
• Travel door‑to‑door within the assigned patch and record mileage for pay.
• Support the Service Manager with budgeting, cost‑efficiency checks and compliance audits.
• Organise rota, handle enquiries and escalations, and ensure timely resolution of complaints.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete required documentation.

Required profile

• Proven background in installing or servicing security, CCTV or fire suppression systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for a defined geographic area.
• Willingness to attend internal and external training to up‑skill.

What we offer

• Salary £40,000‑£45,000 per year plus OTE up to £65,000.
• Company vehicle for personal use and door‑to‑door travel pay.
• Overtime paid for travel and optional call‑out rota (£330 pw).
