Field Service Engineer – South East

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to join a long‑established, family‑owned engineering business that supplies and supports industrial machinery for solid wood, wood‑based panels, plastics, composites and metals. You will work from home and travel door‑to‑door across the South East, delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair services on customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and repair industrial machinery at customer locations.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults and carry out breakdown repairs.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine machinery inspections.
• Produce accurate service reports and provide technical advice to operators.
• Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship and customer service.

Required profile

• Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.
• Mechanical engineering background with solid knowledge of electrical fault‑finding.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East (and occasionally other UK regions).
