Field Service Technician

About the role

Teledyne Technologies is seeking a Field Service Technician to support offshore and on‑shore installation projects worldwide. The role is primarily field‑based, involving termination builds, testing, troubleshooting, and technical services at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and commission field‑service products at customer locations.
• Provide feedback to engineering for process improvements and product performance.
• Inspect, evaluate, and troubleshoot customer equipment during deployment, mobilization, and demobilization phases.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and project stakeholders.
• Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, often on short notice.
• Represent Teledyne professionally on all field assignments.
• Guide and assist junior Field Service Technicians as needed.

Required profile

• AS degree or equivalent work experience.
• Prior field service experience, preferably in a workshop environment.
• Strong knowledge of offshore operations, safety protocols, and customer requirements.
• Ability to work independently in remote offshore/on‑shore settings.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with fiber‑optic splicing and termination.
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel.
• Ability to read blueprints, procedures, and specifications.
• Use of standard electronic test equipment (multimeter, megohmmeter, temperature measurement devices).
• Competence with hand tools and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
