Finance & Administration Officer

About the role

The Nigel Wright Group, an education‑focused organisation, is seeking a Finance & Administration Officer to join its central finance team in Wallsend. This full‑time position combines finance and administrative duties, supporting senior finance leadership and a range of operational stakeholders. You will help maintain accurate financial records, support reporting and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders, invoices and supplier payments.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Reconcile financial transactions, expenses and income streams.
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and highlight variances.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support audit processes.
• Support procurement activities and contract monitoring.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems and procedures.
• Provide financial guidance to operational stakeholders.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance and/or administrative role.
• AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualification.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive and collaborative approach with good communication skills.
