Finance Administrator – Fixed‑term Maternity Cover

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Administrator to support our client’s busy distribution centre in Widnes. This fixed‑term maternity cover runs until 31 January and offers a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one day remote.

Key responsibilities

• Raise, receipt and maintain purchase orders following company procedures.
• Process procurement card transactions and keep purchasing logs.
• Order products, allocate stock and manage the pool car administration.
• Maintain the Time and Attendance system and prepare payroll data.
• Handle holiday records, absence reports and provide cover for the Assistant Finance Manager.
• Sort and distribute incoming post, provide reception cover and support other finance team members.
• Deal with supplier queries, reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Produce financial and operational reports for management and support period‑end processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in finance administration, accounts administration, payroll or related roles.
• Ability to work accurately with purchase orders, payroll data and supplier statements.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to provide cover across finance functions.
