Finance Analyst

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a Finance Analyst to strengthen its analytical capability across procurement, logistics and production. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work at the intersection of finance and operations, providing cost and performance insights to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct variance analysis on monthly management accounts and balance‑sheet activity.
• Analyse procurement spend, supplier performance and logistics costs against budget.
• Support full‑year and rolling forecasts for multiple business units.
• Build and maintain financial models for scenario planning and investment appraisal.
• Review inventory valuation, stock movements and cost of sales on a month‑on‑month basis.
• Identify and quantify cost‑saving opportunities across the supply chain.
• Assist with management reporting, board packs and ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or part‑qualified with a strong numerical foundation.
• Prior experience in a trading, manufacturing or supply‑chain environment.
• Working knowledge of procurement, logistics or inventory accounting.
• Pragmatic, solutions‑focused and comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including building and auditing financial models.
