Finance Assistant – Fixed-Term Contract in London

About the role

Join a fast‑growing, VC‑backed technology scale‑up as a Finance Assistant on a fixed‑term contract. Working within a close‑knit finance team of four, you will own key transactional processes that keep the business running smoothly across multiple international entities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve employee expense claims in line with policy for all group entities.
• Reconcile receipts to card transactions, chase missing documentation and ensure correct coding.
• Perform regular bank account reconciliations across multiple currencies and entities.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Support the wider finance team with ad‑hoc transactional tasks and process improvements.

Required profile

• A degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline with strong academic results.
• Highly organised with a reliable approach to managing workload and deadlines.
• Accurate, detail‑oriented and able to spot inconsistencies.
• Proactive communicator who flags issues early.
• Fast learner comfortable in a high‑growth environment.

Required skills

• Experience with Xero or a similar accounting platform.
