Finance Assistant – Hotel Finance

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the hotel’s finance team in a fast‑paced environment, handling a range of accounting and reporting tasks across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable, credit control, accounts payable and events billing.
• Perform income audits and month‑end closing activities, ensuring accuracy of postings and codes.
• Maintain electronic spreadsheets, journals, ledgers and other financial records.
• Prepare, review and distribute financial, accounting and payroll reports.
• Reconcile and issue invoices, bills and account statements in line with company procedures.
• Uphold company policies, confidentiality and guest service standards.

Required profile

• High numerical literacy and proven analytical abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and negotiation skills.
• Pro‑active, reliable, with a high degree of integrity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexible hours for period‑end requirements.
• Understanding of relevant UK legislation affecting payroll.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
• At least one year of related finance or accounting experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
