Finance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Portsmouth team, supporting the processing and reconciliation of customer payments and assisting with month‑end closing activities. The role offers a supportive environment with hybrid working and a focus on employee wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile customer payments and transactions.
• Assist with month‑end closing tasks and financial reporting.
• Maintain and update customer account records in the finance system.
• Handle enquiries received through the finance inbox.
• Identify and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with finance software such as Sage or similar systems.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work well within a team.
• Previous experience in a finance support role.
