Finance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join a supportive finance team in Blackpool. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will help ensure that all financial information is processed accurately and efficiently while gaining exposure to the full range of transactional finance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the sales ledger – raise invoices, allocate receipts and resolve customer queries.
• Support credit control and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
• Process purchase ledger invoices and run supplier payments.
• Perform daily bank and cash reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and process customer refunds.
• Assist with purchase order and expense management administration.
• Investigate and clear suspense or outstanding account balances.
• Support month‑end reconciliations and reporting.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the business to resolve finance‑related queries.
• Identify and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Organised, proactive and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Previous experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role.
• Strong reconciliation skills and understanding of transactional finance processes.
• Positive, hands‑on attitude with a willingness to learn.
