Finance Assistant

About the role

This is an entry‑level Finance Assistant position within a growing team of five, reporting to the Head of Finance. The role is ideal for recent graduates with an accountancy degree or candidates beginning AAT studies who are keen to develop towards management accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Raise invoices and credit notes
• Produce premium collection reports
• Process and record refunds
• Collate and distribute broker commission statements
• Clear triage queries and reply to premium receipt queries
• Respond to client and broker enquiries
• Assist with credit control and weekly direct debit collection files
• Upload direct debit data to the BACS system and record BACS receipts on Salesforce
• Handle direct debit failures and produce analysis for P11D calculations
• Recommend and implement process improvements to ensure efficiency and compliance

Required profile

• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
• Highly methodical and process‑oriented
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders
• Resilience under pressure and tight deadlines

Required skills

• Good knowledge of MS Excel
• Experience using Salesforce
