Finance Assistant – Office based in Kings Hill

About the role

Our client, a successful business in Mid Kent, is looking for a Finance Assistant to join a small finance team. The role is office‑based in Kings Hill, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of one remote day after the probation period.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day financial and administrative activities of the Finance department.
• Process and maintain accurate financial records and transactions in line with company procedures.
• Assist with daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations, investigating any discrepancies.
• Review and verify funds, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
• Support payment processing and general account administration.
• Monitor bank account activity and investigate exceptions.
• Help with month‑end processes, including journals and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain financial spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Respond to internal and external finance queries professionally and promptly.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance and administrative support to the wider team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional handling of confidential financial information.
