Finance Business Partner – 9‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established business in Aylesbury that is undergoing a significant transformation. As a Finance Business Partner on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract, you will work closely with senior stakeholders in Commercial and HR, providing financial analysis, reporting and strategic insight to drive performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end monthly reporting for assigned business areas, including management accounts, accruals, pre‑payments, journals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Deliver variance analysis and commentary, and present financial reports to senior stakeholders and budget holders.
• Lead monthly performance reviews with department directors and management teams.
• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long‑term financial planning.
• Build strong relationships with operational leaders, providing challenge, insight and decision support.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and contribute to performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Assist with business cases, investment appraisals and ad‑hoc financial projects.
• Contribute to process improvement, financial controls and reporting enhancements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner or in Commercial Finance.
• Strong month‑end accounting knowledge, including accruals, pre‑payments and financial reporting.
• Experience owning budgets, forecasts and management reporting processes.
• Confidence presenting financial information and challenging stakeholders at manager and director level.
• Strong analytical ability to translate data into meaningful business insight.
