Finance Business Partner – Capital Expenditure

About the role

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner with a background in capital expenditure accounting, providing capital accounting support and challenge for a local authority.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the capital programme, including planning, funding analysis, budget monitoring, reporting and capital‑related returns.
• Manage financing through grants and capital sales receipts.
• Support and challenge capital project managers to deliver high‑value projects on time and within budget.
• Lead the capital elements of the annual statutory statement of accounts process.
• Ensure capital and asset accounting requirements are completed in the organisation’s finance system.

Required profile

• CCAB‑qualified accountant.
• Experience in a modern financial environment and providing financial advice to stakeholders.
• Proven experience of technical capital accounting requirements.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities and perform under pressure.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a salary of £55,000‑£60,000.
• Hybrid working – two days per week in the office.
