Finance Business Partner – French Speaking

About the role

ClientEarth is seeking a Finance Business Partner with strong French language skills to support its mission‑driven programmes in London. You will provide insightful financial guidance, strengthen decision‑making, and ensure effective stewardship of donor and organisational resources.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Finance Business Partner Manager to oversee financial management of a portfolio of departments and projects, continuously reviewing budgets and providing regular analysis.
• Contribute to improving programme finance systems, procedures and templates within the FP&A team.
• Assist the Programme Management Group in tracking and reconciling actual and committed project expenditure.
• Create and post monthly salary allocation and cost recovery journals in the Dimensions accounting system.
• Ensure grant/donor funded projects meet reporting and audit requirements in line with donor contracts and ClientEarth standards.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (desirable).
• Fluent in French and English.
• Demonstrable experience preparing budgets and grant financial reports, preferably for trusts, foundations and institutional donors such as FCDO and EU.
• Experience and knowledge of donor funding compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong general IT proficiency.
