Finance Business Partner – Housing Association

About the role

Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, you will partner with Heads of Service and operational teams within a South West housing association. You will provide expert financial support, analysis and challenge to drive performance, value for money and informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis for all Group companies.
• Prepare quarterly forecasts and rolling budgets.
• Maintain general ledger integrity through control‑account reconciliations, corrections and adjustments.
• Deliver tailored monthly budget reports, meet with budget holders to review variances, cost control and grant‑related expenditure, and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Support the annual budgeting process, engage managers, prepare schedules and coordinate senior‑leadership review.
• Assist with year‑end financial statements and external audit processes.

Required profile

• Qualified (or studying towards qualification) accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent.
• Proven experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
• Strong analytical ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across operational teams.
• Proactive approach to process improvement and delivering value for money.

• Financial systems (experience with ERP/financial reporting tools)
