Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially‑minded Finance Business Partner to support a not‑for‑profit organisation in Liverpool. The role provides financial insight, challenge and support to operational and corporate teams, helping senior leaders make informed decisions and optimise resource use.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational and service managers on budget setting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Deliver insightful financial information and recommendations to support decision‑making.
• Monitor performance, identify efficiency opportunities and add value for money.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, business plans and reports for executive, committee and board meetings.
• Act as a trusted adviser to budget holders, challenging assumptions and highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with year‑end processes and external audit requirements.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in finance business partnering or management accounting.
• Proven ability to analyse complex financial data and present clear recommendations.
• Experience working collaboratively with non‑financial managers and senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
