Finance Business Partner – Transformation & Capital Projects

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Finance Business Partner to join a leading UK construction and infrastructure firm undergoing major transformation and capital investment programmes. Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring robust financial governance and driving value across a portfolio of high‑value projects.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with project and operational leaders on transformation initiatives and capital programmes.
• Develop, review and own complex business cases and investment appraisals.
• Provide financial insight, challenge assumptions and support decisions to maximise project returns.
• Monitor capital and operational expenditure, maintaining effective financial controls.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting across project portfolios.
• Prepare variance analysis, management reports and governance documentation.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, delivering proactive recommendations.
• Support investment approvals, project governance and post‑implementation reviews.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience in finance business partnering for large‑scale capital projects or transformation programmes.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and business case development.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
