Finance Business Risk Assistant Vice President

About the role

MUFG is looking for a Finance Business Risk Assistant Vice President to join its London finance division. The role will help strengthen the risk culture across MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA, ensuring that risk and compliance frameworks are operationalised and embedded throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and refresh the Finance Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) to stay compliant with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Support delivery of risk‑management training initiatives for finance teams, promoting a positive risk culture.
• Provide independent oversight through control testing, event read‑across reviews, deep‑dive analyses and challenge non‑SOX control test outcomes.
• Produce risk and control management information (MI) using modern technologies, identifying quality issues, remediation gaps and process improvement opportunities.
• Assist with regular risk assessments, ensuring accurate documentation and appropriate escalation of findings.
• Contribute to the Finance Risk Appetite Framework and related governance activities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in finance risk, control testing or related risk‑management functions within a large financial institution.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, RCSA processes and risk‑appetite frameworks.
• Proven ability to work independently, challenge existing controls and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with local and regional finance teams.
