Finance Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller will join a fast‑growing construction and engineering group, reporting to the Directors. This senior, strategic position is office‑based in Rochdale, Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Take daily, weekly and monthly control of all financial management, reporting and business partnering activities.
• Review and strengthen financial controls, testing robustness and implementing adjustments.
• Produce accurate management reports and deliver strategic financial insights to support growth.
• Oversee project‑based accounting, including work‑in‑progress (WIP) reporting, cash‑flow management and project cost tracking.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Previous experience as a senior Finance Controller or Finance Manager.
• Proven track record in project‑based accounting within construction or engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team.
