Finance Director

About the role

Our client, a respected financial services organisation in the South West, is seeking a strategic Finance Director to lead its financial function. You will partner with the executive team to shape long‑term financial strategy, support growth initiatives and ensure robust governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organisation's financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, performance and risk management.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, long‑term financial planning and cash‑flow management.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Maintain strong financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Lead audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Provide financial insight to support commercial decisions, profitability analysis and ROI assessments.
• Develop KPIs and performance dashboards for senior leadership.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably within financial services.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence executive decision‑making.
• Excellent governance, risk and compliance knowledge.
• Track record of building and developing high‑performing finance teams.
