Finance Director

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Finance Director to join a long‑established family‑owned investment group with interests in infrastructure, property and financial assets. Reporting directly to the owners, you will lead the Group’s financial affairs in a hands‑on, senior capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury and governance across multiple entities.
• Prepare and supervise annual statutory accounts and consolidated group reporting.
• Manage corporation tax compliance, including consortium relief returns.
• Handle dividend, directors’ fees, subordinated debt interest and loan repayments from infrastructure investments.
• Maintain and develop complex financial models for pension trustee reporting and produce quarterly NAV reports.
• Submit quarterly VAT returns to HMRC and manage multi‑currency banking and investment accounting.
• Lead a small remote finance support team and act as a trusted adviser to the family shareholders.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, preferably obtained in public practice.
• 5‑7 years post‑qualified experience in group finance, statutory reporting and corporate tax.
• Proven experience working with owners or family shareholders and building trusted relationships.
• Background in infrastructure, property, construction or other asset‑intensive sectors.
• Strong understanding of corporation tax and defined benefit pension schemes (advantageous).
