Finance Director

About the role

We are partnering with a high‑growth manufacturing group based in Chertsey, Surrey. With a £15 m turnover and a team of around 60, the company supplies products to 30 countries and is scaling rapidly. The Finance Director will own financial control across all entities, lead a small finance team and work closely with the senior leadership to drive growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes using Xero and other finance systems.
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Oversee weekly and ad‑hoc payment runs and inter‑company recharges.
• Lead the year‑end audit, consolidation of group financial statements and quarterly VAT returns (MTD via Xero).
• Support tax advisors with corporation tax returns and R&D tax credit applications.
• Maintain strong financial controls, policies and processes.
• Develop the Accounts Assistant and future hires as the team expands.
• Drive finance system reviews, implementations and integrations.
• Handle annual statutory filings to Companies House.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with 5‑7 years post‑qualification experience.
• Background in a Top 6 audit practice (preferred).
• Hands‑on experience in financial and management accounting within a multi‑entity group.
• Experience in manufacturing or stock‑holding businesses is a plus.
• Proven track record of managing and developing junior finance staff.
