Finance Director

About the role

The Finance Director will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and take overall responsibility for the operational management of the organisation's finances. This senior role sits on the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial insight to support decision‑making and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Produce accurate and timely management information and financial reports for senior stakeholders.
• Develop sophisticated commercial models to support pricing, bids, cost management and long‑term planning.
• Maintain robust governance, compliance and risk‑management processes across the organisation.
• Present financial performance and strategic insights to senior leadership and external auditors.
• Drive operational efficiency and improve reporting capabilities through data‑led decision‑making.
• Lead, develop and motivate a high‑performing finance team, fostering a collaborative, values‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with degree‑level education or comparable experience.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience, preferably in complex, service‑driven environments.
• Proven ability to develop sophisticated financial models and provide strategic recommendations.
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
