Finance Director

About the role

OpenWorks is seeking a Finance Director to lead the financial management of its UK parent and US subsidiary. Reporting to the CFO, this senior position will own the finance function, drive improvements and support the company’s rapid growth in the defence and security market.

Key responsibilities

• Set long‑term budgets and produce financial forecasts for the group.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis and commentary to the board and senior management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain financial models for scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and long‑range planning.
• Design and monitor KPIs, proactively identifying financial risks and opportunities.
• Champion the optimisation of the newly implemented ERP system (Infor Cloudsuite) and explore AI‑driven automation.
• Lead, develop and nurture the finance team across the UK and US entities.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong technical finance background with the ability to work independently.
• Self‑starter who embraces technology and communicates clearly with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Commitment to developing talent within the finance function.
