Finance Manager – Amersham

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Finance Manager to lead a small finance team in a fast‑paced SME environment. You will own the day‑to‑day finance function, ensure accurate reporting and drive continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of three, overseeing daily finance operations and ensuring month‑end deadlines are met.
• Take ownership of the month‑end close, delivering accurate, timely financial reports.
• Manage accounting for multi‑million‑pound transactions with a strong focus on accuracy and control.
• Oversee intercompany accounting across multiple entities, handling reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Develop new models and schedules to automate pre‑payments, accruals and depreciation, reducing manual work.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen controls.
• Prepare journals, balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules to a high standard.
• Support wider finance projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives as the business grows.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant within an SME or fast‑paced commercial environment.
• A genuinely hands‑on approach with willingness to be involved in all aspects of the finance function.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
