Finance Manager – Commercial & Strategic Role

About the role

KCR Solutions is partnering with a successful, growth‑focused business on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne to hire a Finance Manager. The role blends financial control with strategic insight, offering a clear pathway towards senior leadership within the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the finance function, delivering accurate reporting, robust controls and commercial insight.
• Collaborate with senior managers to support decision‑making, performance improvement and strategic planning.
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling activities.
• Contribute to pricing, investment and cost decisions; develop KPIs and performance dashboards.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.
• Oversee month‑end processes, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Manage audit processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Support new system implementation as finance systems lead and super‑user, driving automation and efficiency.
• Supervise sales and purchase ledgers, cash‑flow management, payroll and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Handle VAT, statutory reporting and regulatory submissions.
• Lead and develop a small finance team.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience in a broad finance role within an SME or multi‑site business.
• Strong technical and management accounting expertise.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with cloud‑based finance systems (advantageous).
• Motivation to develop, progress and become an integral part of the business.
