Finance Manager - Construction

About the role
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join a leading MEP contractor in Grays. The role will be based on‑site, working five days a week, and will oversee all financial activities for construction projects.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including month‑end close, budgeting and forecasting.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.
- Lead the migration from Sage 50 to Xero and COINS, coordinating with IT and project staff.
- Support project costing, cash flow management and variance analysis.
Required profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA).
- Proven experience at Finance Manager or Accounts Manager level within a construction or contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of the specific financial challenges faced by MEP contractors.
- Willingness to work on‑site full‑time.
Required skills
- Sage 50 accounting software.
- Xero cloud accounting platform.
- COINS construction‑specific financial system.
