Finance Manager – Hybrid (Gosforth, UK)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our travel‑arrangement business in Gosforth. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote work, and will be a key part of the finance leadership team, driving financial performance and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, setting performance expectations and fostering continuous improvement.
• Oversee preparation and review of monthly management accounts and financial reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain robust financial controls, balance‑sheet reconciliations and support audit requirements.
• Analyse financial performance, investigate variances and provide commentary to support commercial decisions.
• Develop and manage rolling forecasts, budgets and financial plans, delivering scenario analysis and modelling for strategic initiatives.
• Partner with operational leaders as a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions and identifying cost‑optimization opportunities.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and standardisation across finance operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance teams in a commercial environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to ensure governance and compliance.
• Commercial acumen with a track record of influencing business decisions through financial insight.
• Excellent analytical skills and experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
